Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

challenging myself to do better than the last time, having fun, comradarie & friends, setting a good example for my daughters.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I haven't figured this out yet, but when I die I hope people will say I made a difference somehow.

How's Life Treating You?

I have had some tough times. I've survived a messed up childhood, cancer, and my own bad choices. But all that shit does is make me tougher, more resiliant, know myself better & allows me to appreciate the good things that do come my way.

Music?

I love music - all kinds; country, modern, classic rock, opera, rap, you name it. I sing all the time: in the car & when nobody's around to hear me - I'm a pretty terrible singer but it makes me happy.

Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I needed something different than just running to get in better shape & lose weight. I signed up for a women's only triathlon clinic then did a women's only tri, Valley Girl, in 2004. I've been hooked ever since.

List your competitive highlights:

each year I continue to improve inspite of getting older; i.e. the first year I did the Valley Girl tri, I finished 40th out of 46th in my age group. this year I moved up to 8th out of over 60 in my age group.
